Belle Pente Winery | Carlton, Oregon | https://bellepente.com

Brian O’Donnell began his winemaking career in New York City in the 6th grade when he pilfered some Concord grapes from a neighbor's arbor. After the ensuing hangover, he went into retirement for about 20 years until he started making wine for family & friends in his garage in San Jose, CA. These early efforts included Russian River Pinot Noir from a friend’s vineyard. His career path then followed the time-honored tradition from hobby to hobby-out-of-control to a commercial venture. During that time Brian attended extension classes at UC Davis, and spent the 1995 harvest in Alsace & Burgundy. Smitten with Pinot Noir, Brian and his wife Jill founded Belle Pente in 1992 with the purchase of a 70-acre farm just east of Carlton in what is now the heart of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Vineyards were planted starting in 1994, and their first commercial production was in 1996. Brian currently serves as president of the Yamhill-Carlton Winegrowers, and was on the board of the Willamette Valley Wineries Association for several years.

St Innocent – Mark Vlossak
St. Innocent Winery was founded in 1988 by Mark Vlossak, our winemaker. We produce small lots of handmade, vineyard-designated wine from some of the best vineyards in the Willamette Valley, including Shea, Freedom Hill, Momtazi and our estate, Zenith Vineyard. Year after year, St. Innocent Winery has received the highest recognition from throughout the country and around the world for its outstanding Pinot noir, beautifully crafted white wines, and fair pricing. Mark was honored by the Wine Advocate in 2002 and 2004 as one of the "Wine Personalities of the Year." St. Innocent wines have been included in Burghound’s “Top Oregon Pinot Picks” for every vintage since 2006.

Mark works closely with each grower to fine tune the viticultural practices in St. Innocent's vineyard blocks. His goal is to reveal the distinctive terroir of each vineyard by defining the individual textures and flavors in the wine from each site. Mark chooses winemaking techniques to produce wines with balanced complexity, a backbone of acidity, and the ability to age. Together these qualities ensure St. Innocent's place at the dinner table.

Flo – Van Duzer

Florent Merlier proudly heads Van Duzer’s winemaking program, creating elegant, vibrant blends that he feels can only be developed in the unique Van Duzer Corridor micro-climate. To achieve this refinement, he has driven the winemaking focus on small lot presses, sorting and gentle handling. Since starting at Van Duzer in 2010, Florent has closely examined each lot, working with the vineyard manager to grow ideal fruit.
A native of Burgundy, France, the physics and chemistry undergraduate was captivated by winemaking when he helped a friend operate a family owned 40-acre domain in Burgundy.
He subsequently altered his career path from cinema to wine and in the process met his wife, Krista, an Oregonian, interning at the same winery. Flo received his Diploma of Viticulture from the University of Dijon before relocating to the Willamette Valley.
