Cris Cherry is a former Vail Valley resident and Vail Mountain School alum. He spent his childhood on the slopes while his parents owned and operated the Minturn Saloon. Food and wine have always been an important part of Cris's being. A University of San Diego education took Cris to California where he fell in love with and married his wife JoAnn. A professional interest, purchasing wine for the family restaurant, turned into a passion for wine that eventually led them to Paso Robles where Cris fell down the rabbit's hole of winemaking. West Paso Robles is home to the regions' best Rhone grapes many of which make their way into the highly acclaimed Villa Creek Rhone-style blends. 17 years after founding Villa Creek Cellars in the hills of west Paso Robles, the Cherry's are happy to be working with grapes off their own certified organic and biodynamic vineyard, The MAHA Estate. Cris's winemaking style produces expressive, fruit-forward blends that are reflective of the region's unique microclimates.
Cris will be pouring at the Debut of Rose, the Niman Ranch Iberian Pork Challenge, The Niman Ranch Mountain Top Tasting and the Grand Tasting.
Cris will be hosting a wine dinner at the Bass House on Thursday and Friday April 6 & 7th from 6:30-8:30 pm.
There will be a Paso Robles Seminar on Thursday from 5:30-6:30 pm
