Originally from Albuquerque, Sean Sinclair has been coming to Vail on vacation his entire life. So, when the head chef position became available at Sweet Basil in the spring of 2017, Sinclair jumped at the change to make the move to Vail. Educated at Le Cordon Blue with a Culinary Arts degree, his love for cooking started young, working in the kitchen alongside his grandmother Dora. After culinary school, Sinclair, was executive chef at Farm to Table restaurant in his home town of Albuquerque. Under his watch, the restaurant was voted Best Restaurant in New Mexico by USA Today.

Striving to further hone his craft, Sinclair moved out east and into the kitchen as sous chef of the renowned The Inn at Little Washington. The 2 Michelin Star, AAA 5-star and 5-diamond restaurant pushed his passion and drive to culinary perfection, earning Sinclair and his team multiple awards and accolades including 13th best US restaurant by the New York Times. Newly married and looking for a better quality of life, Sinclair landed the head Chef position at Sweet Basil in April 2017, where he has brought his own fresh creative twist to the iconic menus. On a daily basis, he focuses on the positive and strengths of his team and lives by his personal motto: "There are no problems, only solutions".

Sinclair is an avid fisherman an loves to spend contemplative quiet time on the rivers. As well as fishing, he loves spending time with his new bride Katey and their dog Marigold.
