Vail, Colo. - November 23, 2015 - This holiday season, give the gift of the Vail lifestyle as tickets to the 26th Annual Taste of Vail food and wine festival are now on sale with discounted pricing until New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 2015. Save on signature events such as the Mountaintop Tasting, Grand Tasting & Auction and the Signature Pass.
Food and wine enthusiasts can buy early and save on ticket prices to a number of Taste of Vail events. Tickets purchased before Dec. 31, 2015 for the Mountaintop Picnic are $135 (regular $162), $175 for the Grand Tasting (regular $210) and American Lamb Cook-Off $75 (regular $80). Signature passes also are offered at a value before the New Year for $385 - passes will sell for $450 after Dec. 31. The Signature Pass provides access to all of the signature events - Debut of 2015 Rosé, American Lamb Cookoff & Après Ski Tasting, Mountaintop Tasting and the Grand Tasting & Auction.
The 26th Annual Taste of Vail is slated for March 30-April 2, 2016 and features more than 30 guest chefs, restaurateurs and sommeliers as well as more than 55 wineries. The event kicks off the afternoon of March 30 with The Debut of 2015 Rosé in Lionshead. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample the first of the 2015 releases in this event that showcases one of the largest selections of rosé in the United States.
On Thursday, March 31, the festivities move to Vail Village for the annual American Lamb Cook-Off & Après Ski Tasting. Local chefs will showcase their finest lamb dishes to the public, while simultaneously competing for prizes in the cook-off. Guest vintners also will serve wine varietals.
The showcase event on Friday, April 1 is the Mountaintop Picnic on Vail Mountain. Located at 10,350 feet above sea level in a hand-built snow arena, the setting for the picnic is unlike any other food and wine event. Chefs from Vail's top restaurants will serve up a gourmet picnic, while guest wineries serve selections of their finest wines. Ticket holders can ski to the event or take the Eagle Bahn Gondola out of Lionshead to access the signature on-mountain picnic.
Taste of Vail wraps up on Saturday, April 2 with the Grand Tasting & Silent Auction. The Grand Tasting is the culmination of the three-day event with chefs showcasing their most creative fare alongside wine partners who feature their best product.
New seminars and dining experience for the 26th Annual Taste of Vail will be announced in early 2016. Attendees in 2016 will have a variety of new options to make their Taste of Vail experience even more diverse with intimate wine tastings with vintners and winery owners, a specialty brunch and educational seminars.
